Comfort and convenience

Our films will be screened in the Suter Film Theatre, on Thursday evenings, starting at 6.00 p.m., but there may be times that Film Society will have to switch to the State Cinema multiplex. Films will then start sometime between 6.00 and 7.00 p.m. The confirmed time for each screening will be notified in The Nelson Evening Mail on Wednesday. Please check, each week, that the venue has not changed.

Most of the society’s movies are booked on a ‘non theatrical rights’ basis and so must only be screened to people who are members. Membership is a one off payment and at $80/$70 it works out at less than $3.00 a movie. There is no better or cheaper entertainment to be had anywhere in the country. Alternatively, you may subscribe to a ‘sample membership ticket’ that admits you to any three films for just $30.00. The full membership card also gives you a discount to the International Film Festival in September and is valid for 12 months.

The Nelson Film Society is an incorporated, non-profit, organisation affiliated to the NZ Federation of Film Societies Inc. Come early each week to join us for a sociable glass of wine or fruit juice before the screening.
